We are currently in the voting window of BC's Referendum on Electoral Reform. The voting period is from October 22nd to November 30th, 2018.
I'm a strong believer in voting and being politically informed and active.
Here is a link to the Elections BC Website. Herein you can find:
- How to vote (voting is done by mail)
- The Voter's Guide
- An objective presentation of all the options
Also on this site you can read the Attorney General's Report and Recommendations.
Now there are several short videos circulating out there that do a good job of encapsulating what the options are. However, these videos are only useful for a general overview of the issues and options.
I strongly urge you to take the time to read the various reports and guides both on the Elections BC website and further out there in the media. There are much more in depth explanations of the options and issues than these short videos. If you do this you will be rewarded with a more comprehensive understanding of the Electoral Reform Referendum.
The Elections BC Voter's Guide and the Attorney General's Report and Recommendations, linked above here, are both good places to start.
Of course there is media coverage about the Referendum everywhere. I'm trying to present all this information to you in an objective way. Since there is a always a slant to media coverage I'll leave it up to you to further seek out this information.
Please do your research. Be extensively informed. Make your vote count for how you want to be represented by your provincial government.
