Crossfit Diet: Is Red Meat Really King?

Is Red Meat Really King? image One of the major components of the Zone Diet followed by many top CrossFit Athletes is red meat. Does this mean that vegans or vegetarians are at a disadvantage? After taking on several vegetarian clients, I’ve decided to take it upon myself to research the subject and determine how vegetarians can effectively balance their diet to achieve their goals. I was raised on meatloaf and ribs so vegetarian nutrition is new to me to say the least. In order to find the answers I’m looking for, I’ve been referring to experts from SFU and UBC and as many sources as possible to learn about the subject and be able to provide my clients the best advice I can. Over the next few weeks I’ll be posting summary articles on performance nutrition specifically relevant to vegetarian athletes. Hopefully, even the non-vegetarians will learn something so stay tuned for my findings.
