It’s time to squat!

The title says it all. Today's focus will be on developing your back squat. Now of course comes the million dollar question, low bar or high bar? The answer, practice both. "Note that the bar remains balanced over the mid-foot in each case, and this requires that the back angle accommodate the bar position." - Mark Rippetoe & Lon Kilgore Technique: Practice low bar and high bar back squats, but do not push yourself to the point of exhaustion. Workout: For this workout, you must follow the words of Ben Kenobi "Choose, but choose wisely". You are responsible for choosing your own weight. Number of rounds in 20 minutes of 10 back squats 10 pushups 10 sit-ups Now here's the trick, your score is the weight you chose multiplied by the number of rounds you complete. So, do you go light and try to cram in as many rounds as possible or go heavy and struggle through fewer rounds?? Ideally you will be able to complete all 10 reps of the back squat without having to rack the bar. But if you happen to bite off a little more than you can chew you and are unable to complete the set of 10, rack it, take a couple of deep breaths and finish the set. As a cool-down it might be a good idea to do a nice slow paced 500 m row to help your legs recover. This may also help to prevent significant soreness the next day. Kermit
