We hear about it all the time these days.
How it's damaging our youth, distracting our drivers and ruining family dinners.
i do see how it can be a a problem, but I am also a realist and know that much of what goes on a phone these days isn't just social media and emailing.
There are endless apps for tracking diets and workouts. Apps for editing videos and pictures and of course apps for weather and travel.
That all being said we should still be conscious of how much time we could be wasting on our devices.
I recently installed an app called Moment. What Moment does is track the amount of time you are using you phone throughout the day. There is also a premium version that will tell you more insights and allow to even limit your screen time should you feel the need.
I wasn't really surprised with what I found after only using the app for 5 days.
I average roughly an 1 hour and 11 minutes on my phone. Four minutes here, ten minutes there. Booking clients, answering emails it all adds up to a decent amount of time come the end of the day.
I know my screen time will never be zero minutes again for as long as I live, but I do make a larger effort now to control my habits more than I have in the past after having the data stare me right in the face.
If you are curious, or even frightened to know how many minutes you may be giving up daily sifting through your phone I suggest you give this an app a try.
