Coach Chesty talks about how to create change on a cellular level.
Cells are the basic building blocks of living things. They provide structure for your body to take in nutrients and carry out tasks. You are a living thing made of trillions of cells and movement and force is their language, how you move is how you speak to them. What you say to them changes your structure, how you take in nutrients and how your cells function.
How to remodel yourself:
You must be clear with what you're saying. You must be clear about how you’re moving. If you want something specific out of your body, you must move with intent. Connect with your joints and surrounding tissues. Ask what you are doing, how you are doing it, and why you should bother. Aimlessly throwing words around doesn’t make much for conversation.
Your body becomes what you do from sun up to sundown, from the office to the gym. In other words, you’re going to have to repeat yourself. Repetition is the father of learning, or mother, whoever you listened to more. Your muscles and connective tissue have been moulded by the repeated actions of your life. Those cells need constant reinforcement. You have to knock on that door daily for them to remember what you’re saying.
It’s one thing to have a conversation every day. It’s another to understand what’s been said. That doesn’t always happen the first time around. Just because you think you’ve got it, doesn’t mean they’ve got it. Allow it time to sink in. That time will allow you to gain a deeper vocabulary and smoother delivery.
Your lifestyle is already having this conversation with the cells of your body every day. If you want something else from it, something more, something better, you’ll need to be a part of it.
Our Mobility Training sessions provide an opportunity for you to speak to and change these cells.
