Tuesday’s Big Hit at CrossFit Vancouver

I'm going to abuse my artistic license once again on Tuesday with another Sheppy original. image Feathers 135/85 lbs 5 Sumo Deadlift High Pull 1 Squat Clean 5 Jerks (Push/Split) Rounds in 12 minutes SDHP must come up to the clavicle to count. Your elbows should be coming up to ear height. Jerks only count if you finish with your knees, hips and elbows all locked straight at the same time. I've test driven this one on a few people. Including myself. Its a big hit. I called it "Feathers" partly because of the heavier weight but mostly because when I was done I thought I could fly (after my heart rate came down). The weight is heavy enough that your form on the SDHPs will have to be near perfect for you to execute the lift. My advice for the jerks is to get low. I found it much more efficient to lock out underneath the bar than to half press it because I was not low enough.
