Very superstitious, writing’s on the wall!

SUPERSTITION - is a credulous belief or notion, not based on reason or knowledge. The word is often used pejoratively to refer to folk beliefs deemed irrational, which is appropiate since irrational means "not based on reason". (Wikipedia definition) In the globe and mail today I came across an article titled “Better Performance through superstition” which made me wonder if any of our crossfitters have Superstitions that they would like to share with the community. Perhaps you have a lucky pairs of socks, or a set of rings you have to use when you do muscle-up workouts. They could be in or outside of the box! I’ll share with you a few examples of some top athletes featured in the article: Serena Williams (tennis) –Doesn’t change socks during a tournament if she is winning. Bruce Gardiner (hockey) – Dunked the blade of his stick in the Ottawa Senators locker room toilet before games to end slumps. Turk Wendell (baseball) –Always chewed four pieces of black licorice while pitching, and brushed his teeth between each inning. Also never touched the baselines. Jason Terry (basketball)- tries to sleep in a pair of uniform shorts belonging to the next days opponents, wears 5 pairs of knee high socks, eats chicken before every game. image As for the workout, we are going to experiment a little with running today. Give it your all for every run. Dynamic warm-up Workout: 200 meter run, rest for 90 seconds 400 meter run, rest for 3 minutes 800 meter run, rest for 6 minutes 1 mile run Compare your times to your personal best times for each run.
