She has spent the past ten years studying vulnerability, courage, authenticity, and shame. She spent the first five years of her decade-long study focusing on shame and empathy, and is now using that work to explore a concept that she calls Wholeheartedness. She also wrote the book called The Gifts of Imperfection. She talks about how connections are so very important to us and how we fear that we are not worthy of this connections. Sense of worthiness, love and belonging makes us believe that we are worthy. Fully embrace vulnerability and have to courage to be imperfect.
